ADELAIDE UNITED ANNOUNCE SIGNING OF CHILE INTERNATIONAL STAR

 Australian Football League outfit Adelaide United have announced the signing of Chile international player María José Rojas for the new season. The player comes to the club with a wealth of experience having traveled around the world playing in leagues in countries like the United States, Japan, Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania, and of course, Australia.

Rojas has also enjoyed a blissful career with her national team side, having played for then in 44 games and scoring 11 goals in the process. Her portfolio also boasts of her having led her country to the 2018 Copa América Femenina and the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

In the Copa América tournament, she helped her team with two goals, but they could not clinch the title as they ended up as runners-up to eventual winners Brazil. She also impressed at the 2019 World Cup having put up strings of incredible performances for her national team side.

She played in Australia between 2016 and 2017 for Adelaide University in the Women’s National Premier League scoring an impressive 66 goals in that period. She then left the club and loved to Canberra United to finish the Westfield E-League in the 2018/19 season after different stints abroad.

She has now returned to Adelaide and will play for the club in the ongoing 2020 Women’s National Premier League season with Salisbury Inter.

Rojas played in a total of 18 games spanning across all competitions and scored 27 goals, and she was rewarded with a Shirley Brown Medal for her exploits. She won the Women National Premier League’s player of the year award as well.

Speaking about her transfer to Adelaide, Rojas declared that she is very delighted to be joining the club and insisted that she is coming to help the team the best way that she can.
