Felipe Gutierrez To Become A Part Of Chile National Team

Felipe Gutierrez, the midfielder from the Sporting Kansas City is all set to join Chile National Team next week to take part in the international friendlies against Mexico and Peru. This was the announcement made by the Football Federation of Chile. Reinaldo Rueda, the head coach of Chile has named the midfielder in the 24 man roster while La Roja gets prepared to face Peru in 12th October at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami prior to his visit to Mexico in 16th October in Queretaro. Before joining Chile, the SKC midfielder would be available for selection while Sports Kansas City organizes the LA Galaxy in a much-awaited Western Conference at Children Mercy Park. The game would take place in the evening with some live coverage on TV.

Gutierrez would be 28 on Monday and has successfully tallied 7 goals so far with 2 assists since he joined Sporting KC during the 2018 season. He was being honored as the MLS Player of the Month in March as he scored 5 goals in his 5 MLS appearances that he showed for the first time before an injury. Gutierrez has always played a significant role as a team which currently sits 2 points out of 1st position in Western Conference. In the year 2010, Gutierrez scored his 1st of 35 caps in the senior’s international level. He also competed in FIFA World Cup2014 in Brazil and also made Chile achieve Copa American 2015 title as South American champions.

Chile stands at 12th position as far as the latest rankings of FIFA are concerned and the club has been Copa America Champions back to back with continental title achievement in 2015 and 2016. Chile is a 24 man squad which is highlighted by Arturo Vidal, the FC Barcelona midfielder and Alexis Sanchez, the Manchester United forward.
