BORGHI WILL NOT RESIGN

Claudio Borghi took over from the current Athletic Bilbao manager Marcelo Bielsa, who had worked wonders with the national team prior to his resignation. Claudio Borghi took over from the current Athletic Bilbao manager Marcelo Bielsa, who had worked wonders with the national team prior to his resignation. Marcelo Bielsa resigned from the national team on the account of falling out with the new board. He had taken the Chilean team to the second round of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

However, the national team is in serious danger of failing to qualify for the 2014 edition of the World Cup that will take place in South America. Chile recently suffered yet another defeat in the match against Argentina. The 2-1 defeat means that the national team has now lost the last four matches without exception. This even includes the friendly match against Ecuador. Coming up against the match against Serbia in a friendly, the manager Claudio Borghi has said that he intends to see out his contract and has no plans of resigning from the job. It remains to be seen at the board will take any action.

“Vidal should play no matter who is the coach. All three want to be opinion leaders, they believe they can change things, that they have more power than they do. This makes me proud, because I am important. The dogs may be barking, but they are only chihuahuas,” said the national team manager in response to the speculation from the media wanting him to step down from his post. He has also said that the Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal is one of the important players for the national team, and people should not doubt his ability.
