OLE STILL BELIEVES IN SANCHEZ
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested that Alexis Sanchez can turn by returning to the club and regaining his best form. The Chile international has endured a turbulent time with the Red Devil since he made the move to join Man Utd in the winter of 2017.
The Chilean forward was loaned to Inter Milan last summer but sustained an injury while on international duty and has only recently returned to the fold for Antonio Conte’s Italian title-chasers before Covid19 put football on hold globally.
Amid the constant speculation surrounding new recruits during the January window, Ole pointed out that there could be options for the 2020/21 squad within the present group, including the experienced South American.
The manager stated that Sanchez will return to the club and reach his peak again just as he did for his former club. The manager believed Sanchez can not turn a bad player overnight and he believes that his one year loan move away from the Premier League will do the player a whole lot of good.
Man Utd also have other loan players in the Serie A. Chris Smalling who has enjoyed a good loan spell with Roma, is also expected to return to the Premier League at the end of the season. But the manager is not confident he has the room to accommodate the England international again at Old Trafford. Several clubs have shown their interest in the player.
Smalling, 30, is a subject of interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. The North London based clubs tried to get the players in January but no deal materialized as the player continued in Rome.
Meanwhile Nigerian international has extended his loan deal with Manchester United till January 2021. The former Nigerian international extended his deal with the Red Devils amid a bumper deal from his parent club Shanghai Shenhua.
