Sanchez has been the third choice forward at Inter Milan in their run to win the league title this season but that has not stopped him from contributing his own quota to the team’s success this season. He starts games on the bench most times as Inter boss Antonio Conte prefers the duo of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.

Lukaku was rested for the home clash with Claudio Ranieri’s Sampdoria thus giving Alexis Sanchez the chance to take centre stage and he took it well.

Inter Milan took an early lead in the game through Roberto Gagliardini. The Italian midfielder gave the Nerazzuri the lead on four minutes beforeSanchez doubled that advantage on 26 minutes. Sampdoria pulled one back nine minutes later through a former Inter Milan player in Senegalese international player Keita Bobo Balde. Ex-Arsenal and Manchester United attacker Sanchez restored the two-goal lead for Inter almost immediately with his brace.

The two goals from Chile player Alexis Sanchez gave the Nerazzuri 3-1 advantage at the half-time interval. Young Italian striker Andrea Pinamonti extended the hosts lead shortly after the hour mark before the aforementioned Martinez wrapped up the win from the spot nine minutes later.

The two goals for Chile attacker Sanchez against Sampdoria took his tally in the Italian Serie A to seven goals and five assists in 28 games. His brace ensured that the already crowned champions maintained their 13-point at the top of the table.
