Jorge Sampaoli is reportedly looking to quit the national team

Chile manager Jorge Sampaoli is reportedly looking to quit the national team in order to take over as the manager of a top Brazilian club.

His decision to leave Chile may come after the national team admitted corruption charges in a recent FIFA scandal. Chilean FA pleaded guilty to the United States on certain charges related to corruption. This scandal has hit the nation just a few months after their immense success at the Copa America 2015. Even though the 55-year-old is under contract until the 2018 World Cup, he has decided to leave the national team ahead of schedule.

Jorge Sampaoli reckons defeating Brazil

Jorge Sampaoli reckons defeating Brazil just after the Copa America glory would earn Chile a lot of respect in the Football world.

Chile got better of Brazil in a World Cup qualifier yesterday and they did so comprehensively.

Yes, the Selecao in the absence of Neymar was probably not as strong as they probably would have been if the striker had been there, but, they were still a solid unit and to get better of them by a margin of 2 goals, it was a laudable show by Chile.

Wenger Must Use Walcott’s versatility

Theo Walcott can play as a winger down both flanks as well as lead the offensive line as the main attacking figure in a more central position.

Not many players have the ability of doing this and Walcott can fluently switch between all of his positions during the same match, this a huge advantage that Arsene Wenger has to fully exploit in order to fulfill his objective of winning the Premier League title which he hasn’t won in over 10 years.

Chile reached the semi-final of the Copa America

Chile reached the semi-final of the Copa America after managing to overcome defending champions Uruguay in the quarter-finals.

This has been termed as a historic moment by manager Jorge Sampaoli. The 1-0 victory for the home team means that they will have an eye on the final as they take on Peru. The opposition were not given much hope to reach this stage and Chile will represent a formidable opposition primarily due to their home advantage. The other semi-final could potentially see Brazil and Argentina coming up against each other.

Iran and Brazil to face Chili before Copa America Campaign

Iran and Brazil are the upcoming opponents that the Chilean national football team will be facing off with before their Copa America campaign kicks off in June.

The Copa America is the main international football competition from teams in South America and Chile is going to be preparing themselves with friendly matches against Iran and Brazil which are scheduled to take place on March 26 and 29 respectively.

Alexis Sanchez to Speak English Sooner or Later

Alexis Sanchez says that he is confident that he will start speaking in English sooner rather than later.

The Chilean arrived from Spanish outfit Barcelona in the summer for around £ 35 million. Not many expected him to have such an immediate impact at Arsenal, as Sanchez almost single-handedly has helped Arsenal win many matches.

He has already scored 17 goals in just 26 appearances in all competitions. This includes an impressive eight assists as well. One can only expect the impact getting bigger in the coming seasons, as the 26-year-old starts to work on his language.

MC heavy Reliance on Aguero for Goals

Manchester City have showed an over reliance on striker Sergio Aguero in the first few months of the season.

The former Atletico Madrid has been in sparkling form and he has scored 12 goals in the league so far. This is two better than his nearest competitor, Diego Costa, and a huge distance away from the likes of Robin van Persie. He once again delivered the goods in the 2-2 draw against QPR on Saturday. The result was once again a poor one for Manuel Pellegrini’s men, as they fell 8 points behind leaders Chelsea after 11 matches.

Deschamps Forbidden To Leave Managerial Post

Following the conclusion of the latest edition of the World Cup, a large number of managers from different national teams have stepped down and resigned from coaching their respective squads and nations but this isn’t the case with France’s Didier Deschamps who has a contract with his team which runs up until 2016.

The president of the French Football Federation Noel Le Graet has a healthy relationship with Didier Deschamps as Le Graet expressed his condition with the manager.
